Easter Blessings!

Just a quick post today to share an Easter card I made with the miniature version of the tag in my last post.  I added some patterned paper, ribbons and a kraft resist image by Tim Holtz (love these little vintage pieces of art!) which I added mini pompoms to for bunny tails.  Sweet & Simple!

I'm wishing you & your family a blessed Easter holiday!  I hope you can take time to look for blessings from God each day and are able to enjoy time together with family and friends!

April Easter Tag {12 Tags of 2014}

I'm thrilled to be playing along with Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014 again this month- I kinda froze up when he used those new frameworks dies (that are up there on my wish list!) because I loved his tag so much and just don't have the materials. BUT, I decided that part of being creative is improvising... so I started with my background and went from there!  So, here's a peek at my finished tag:
 And here's a close up- I remembered I had this border punch that I thought I could make work for a similar look to Tim's framework element- it's not as fabulous as his, but I'm happy with it!  I decided to go with an Easter twist on this tag, especially since I had Tim's seasonal kraft resist pack to play with!  I added a fluffy pom pom tail and skipped the pinecone roses and pulled out some pretty flowers from my stash.  I did have crinkle ribbon, and added some bits of bling!
Here's a look at the top of the tag- the cute chevron ribbon I inked up a bit and a sweet bird paper clip from my trip to a nearby LSS!
Be sure to visit Tim Holtz's blog to see the tutorial and his gorgeous spring tag that inspired this one!

I did make a mini version of this tag as well, (I just can't help myself!) it will be incorporated onto a card front... which I will hopefully share with you this Easter weekend!

Happy Easter {MOJO340 take 2}

Today is Palm Sunday, so I thought it a great day to share my second take at this week's Mojo Monday Sketch!  The cross stamp I've used is another 'vintage' one from my collection by PSX.  I've always loved it simply embossed in gold or silver, but I've not found my embossing powders or my heat tool, so I decided to do some simple 3D layering instead, stamping on the patterned paper and then again, layered with foam adhesive squares.  I changed up the sketch slightly to accommodate a smaller image, taking my flowers up the left side of the card.  I've used two sides of one of my fave Basic Grey papers, and I love how it came together for this card.
Here's a close up of the cross- it was stamped in Archival black ink on kraft paper that had been sprayed with some ColorShine by Heidi Swapp.  I love the shimmery texture it adds.
 Here's a second card that is almost identical... I just left the cross a plain kraft colour and used slightly different flowers :)
 My mini flowers had a bit of glitter on them, so pretty :)
I'm entering this card in the current challenge at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards whose theme is yipes stripes!

Easter Cards! (MOJO340 take 1)

I really love this week's Mojo Monday Sketch and had some fun making some Easter cards with it.  I'm sharing two of them with you today, and I'll be back with another tomorrow!

First up is a cute one that was inspired by the deer paper by Basic Grey.  I dug through my stamp collection and found this cute pair of deer by Memory Box Stamps.  On both cards, I've used a 'vintage' Happy Easter stamp by PSX.  I added stickers also from Basic Grey, some flowers & bling from my stash and some silk ribbon.
here's a close up of these little deers :)
Here's another card featuring the same sketch, but with a more feminine twist!  The paper is by Basic Grey again and the stamp is by Stampendous.  It's not particularly 'easter-y' but it definitely looks like spring to me!
I added some bits of Distress Stickles to the leaves add some subtle sparkle!
Now I'm off to check out what other people have done with this fab sketch... I'll definitely be using it again!  Actually, I already did, I'll be back to show you very soon :)

Love a simple sketch!

I was inspired to make cards yesterday based on a simple sketch... my goal was to take one sketch and create several different cards based on it.  I fell in love with a sketch from the As You See It Challenge blog, and even though I missed the deadline to enter my cards, I think I've found a blog I'll be heading back to for inspiration again!  Here's the cards I made:
And here's a closer look at each of them!  They each feature a tag I inked up with Distress Ink, some large prima flowers, a Hero Arts background, some Art Impressions bird stamps and washi tape!  My sentiments are from a stash I have pre-printed on kraft, designed by me :)

I added a bit of gloss to the birds with a perle pen by Viva Decor, it's got a slightly pink shimmer to it.

Sorry about the shadows- I was blessed with a ton of sunshine outside yesterday :)

there's something so sunny & happy about orange!
So there's my simple cards from a fun sketch- hope you like them and maybe they'll inspire you to get your mojo started if you're in a slump :)

A challenge I'm not too late to play along with... Penny's Challenge: Feathered Friends

Be Good To Yourself!

 Why yes, thank you!  I have had some fun with that chevron stencil and my lime green Dylusions lately ;)  Here is a final project created with leftover inky goodness from my earlier project!  This came together fairly quickly as I used a previously coloured Saturated Canary image (like months ago previously coloured... oy! I think I might be ready to get my Copics out again!).  I've used papers from BoBunny and a bit of washi tape and ribbon, along with a vintage PSX rubber stamp (remember them!?) for my sentiment.
Here's a close up of this little lady... bringing her books and an apple for one (or ALL) of my teacher friends :)  Be good to yourself, friend- spring is (supposedly) here and summer is coming, when the only books you'll be carrying are the ones you WANT to read!

Challenges I'd like to play along with:
Cards in Envy- Anything Goes in an A2 envelope (I used a matching card & envy from Hero Arts!)
Path to Positivity- Thoughtfulness.  Lots of happy thoughts went out to my many teacher friends as I made this card!
