eye candy

Thought I'd share some photos of some of the new products I've been telling you about... I wasn't able to take a good photo of the Heidi Swapp stamps that are actually on the shelf, so scanned from the catalog... it didn't turn out well either, but at least you can see the designs! I put a blue check by the ones we have right now, but the rest are soon to follow! Enjoy the eye candy!

another Easter Egg

here's another Easter Egg I decorated up today with the BoBunny papers & my QuicKutz shapes (I love this little bunny & the grass!) So cheery! I'm working on seeing how much I can make out of just a few sheets of these papers!

Garden Chic Easter Projects

another midnight crop has come and gone... we had a small group, but hey, that means we all get more table space! I wasn't overly productive, but I had a fun time playing with the new Garden Chic papers by BoBunny-- they just cheer me up looking at them! I decorated a big gallon pail in style for Easter! Here's a few views of it- the amazing eggs are done on my QK Silhouette (love this thing!) and the flourishes are on my QK Revolution. Finishing touches: MM Shimmer brads, prima flowers, lipstick pink distress ink & a whole bunch of colourful ribbons! I also decorated this fun chipboard egg by MM with the same materials- I finished it off with MM pearl glaze, which is really pretty! I'm SO ready for spring, now!

We're back from our trip to Calgary- we had a great time and enjoyed meeting Lisa Bearnson (founder of Creating Keepsakes magazine) and also enjoyed the bonus of meeting our QuicKutz rep, Greg (I was a bad scrapbooker though, and didn't have my camera with me!). We enjoyed some down time shopping in Calgary and a night out at the ballet!

my main squeeze

I just had to share this fun card I made about 'my main squeeze'- QuicKutz! I've been having a blast with the Silhouette electronic tool and created a squeeze shape to cut out (as well as the lettering & scalloped circle on this card), but the Squeeze tool is still sure to be a favourite of mine for years to come. I also used some new Basic Grey rub ons we got in yesterday, & they're wonderful! We have several designs in both black & white, and they go on like buttah :)

Other goodies that arrived yesterday... foam stamps (a-letta's & fancifuls) by Pebbles Inc., 7 gypsies naked seal stamp, Basic Grey precision file set, more perhaps 12x12 packs & mini monograms, more adhesives back in stock and a few other items.

our eventful week...

Look what we woke up to at 5:30am on Thursday... the culprits have been busy on our street this week, hitting the stores on both sides of us, as well as several other locations around town. We just wanted you to be aware of what local small businesses are giong through right now-- please continue to support us, as times like this can be very discouraging. We were fortunate, as nothing was stolen, but these malicious acts are very disturbing as it seems like nothing is being done to put a stop to it.

March SOTM

a few cards using our March Stamp of the Month, "Enjoy the Day" by Hero Arts. This stamp is great for quick & easy cards as well as being a good one for 'guy' cards. Enjoy!

March Page Maps

I just realized I haven't posted the link to new PageMaps this month yet... oops! These are such a wonderful resource, I turn to them every time I am hitting a wall creatively. Click HERE for page maps and then click HERE for card maps. I used one of the card maps as my inspiration for a quick St. Patricks day card using our SOTM, it's kinda fun, eh? I'll post more SOTM samples in a few minutes :)

blog candy winner (take 2)

So... next time we do blog candy, I'll make sure I ask for e-mail addresses :)

We have a new winner of our blog candy... Colleen! She wrote:

Love the Bella stamps, I want them all! The bridal shower one will be fabulous for Jen's shower invitations!

9:29 PM

Congrats, girl! You can pick up your pink blog candy next time you're in the store! (Can someone tell me which Bella is the 'bridal shower' one? I saw brides, but...)

Friday, March 02, 2007

blog candy winner is....

... "Y" That's all we've got for a name/user ID, so if you are "Y" please contact us to let us know who you are so we can get your prize to you! Congrats, whomever you are! (if we don't make contact by Monday afternoon, we'll draw another name!)

I'm loving it... {Silhouette}

WOOHOO! Our new QuicKutz tool, the Silhouette, arrived today... I was itching to get here as soon as mom called me at the school to let me know! This arrival has totally made my day (and then I won a coffee at Timmy's on my "Roll up the Rim" cup, too!) and I've had fun playing with it so far! Set up and installation on the computer went smoothly (I'd say it took about 30 minutes) and then I was able to start cutting! I expect I'll be learning all the ins and outs for a bit, but the thing is... it WORKED right away! We've tried a variety of fonts & shapes on assorted papers (including adhesive backed bazzill, which cut just fine!) and so far so good! I created THIS title on the adhesive Bazzill with a font called "Elise" and I'm sure I'll have a million ideas in the next few days... so many things to try! Just had to share! If you're in the neighborhood, stop by the store, cuz I'd love to give a quick demo (just remember... I'm still learning it too!)
