Cardinals in Love

Happy Tuesday!

It feels like the new year just started, but here we are with Valentine's Day right around the corner already!  I've got one more card to share with you that can be used for the occasion, though I left a sentiment off it so it could also be used for an anniversary or just a thinking of you card for a bird lover.

I created a gate fold A2 card, scoring it at 2.125 from each end so they meet in the center.  On the left panel, I added a strip of patterned paper with a text print from my current favorite 6x6 pad.

I really wanted to use this Cardinal Pair stamp by Penny Black at Christmas, but never got around to it... so I was pleased that die cutting it in a heart shape allowed me to cut out or hide the ornaments.  I simply stamped it in black ink and then inked the edges with Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink.  I had pre-made some mini Brushstroke Flowers in shades of coral, so I decided to use them along with some crinkle ribbon I had dyed to match.

Because I had the flowers pre-made, this card went together fairly quickly!  Here's one more photo with my ribbon untied so you can see the gatefold.

This card would be really pretty with red flowers as well, especially if you colored the cardinals in their shades of red & brown!

I hope you enjoy it!  Have a wonderful week and Valentine's Day, however you celebrate it (or Wednesday if you don't).

Inky hugs,

Tara
