Happy Tuesday y'all! I just couldn't resist... I had so much fun creating my cards for the Whittle Things Blog Hop that I just kept on going. Here's one more card with my Whittle Cactus Trio dies!
I wanted to highlight the dies as a trio, so chose a mini slimline as my base for this card. It's a fun size to work with, just 3.5 x 6" so it let me look at my products in a new way! I also wanted to pair the dies with the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Ten mini set for a fun birthday card.
I selected the hexagon stacked tiles dies by Tim Holtz as a base for my cacti and sentiment, originally planning to put one cactus on each hexagon. I inked up a piece of white Cardstock with my trio of Distress Ink- Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade & Salvaged Patina, blending the colors together and splattering with water before I cut a variety of hexagons out of it.
Playing around with placement, I ended up with the one you see here, giving the sentiment it's own hexagon rather than stamping it below the tiles as I originally planned. The little flower from the stamp set (stamped onto a scrap of the Abandoned Coral card stock) added a fun touch to my center tile.
As you can see, I've had a lot of fun with this little Cactus Trio! If you haven't visited our Whittle Things Blog Hop, there's still time to get in on the fun- inspiration and a chance to win a prize!
Inky hugs,
Tara
