Happy Tuesday! It's my first Tuesday post in 2021 and I've got a card somewhat inspired by the card I made for our Slimsational blog hop to share with you! (If you haven't done the hop, check it out today! There's still time to be entered to win the Picket Fence Slimline die cutting system!). Over on Facebook, SNS is continuing the fun daily 'Random Acts of Cardness' challenges. Each day there is a word to challenge and inspire you... today, that word is BRIGHT!
My simple card uses some of the same dies as my previous card as well, the Merry & Bright set and Falling Stars. I've also used a star background stamp from one of the old Dylusions stamp sets! I used the inlaid die cut technique for the focal image, the word 'bright', cutting it from a scrap I gel printed on and then another solid teal piece of card stock. I glued the larger piece to another scrap, covering it with adhesive, then placed the teal letters inside the negative space and filled the 'loops' with pieces from the original cut. It's a technique I've seen quite a bit but rarely use! I really like it for this piece!
I built my card on a base of recycled white card stock on which inked some yellow (Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink) vertically using a Picket Fence Blender Brush. I then stamped the star background in the same yellow (though it seems the stamp was dirty, since there's a darker yellow on there too! Oops!) and layered my focal image together with assorted cut stars. A few tiny Nuvo Dots add just a bit of extra shimmer and a small talk sticker finishes it all off.
It's a simple, cheery card- which I think is a great way to start the new year!
Here's to brighter days ahead! Choose to shine...
Inky hugs,
Tara
