I absolutely LOVE poppies and have had in mind to play with these fabulous papers by Authentique for quite some time. I've also had this stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps on my wish list for a while as well, so with the new arrival of Sweet Pea Stamps in our store, and these papers set aside for a class (scroll down for a peek- it's scheduled for tomorrow night!) I couldn't wait to play!
If you've been in the store lately, you'll know we've been under construction... which means almost no time for creativity :( but over a week or two I actually managed to complete this card:
I've used the current sketch by CLP for the card. I've added resist canvas (inked with Distress Stain by Ranger), paper flowers, blin & lace by Prima and a sentiment flag from Jillibean Soup as well as some wooden birds from Crate Paper. I love the addition of wooden embellishments! Here's a close up shot... I didn't take as much time as I might have liked with my colouring, but opted to get 'er done instead ;)
Isn't she purty? I'd like to play along with a few other challenges as well...
- CMC Copic Challenge 'fall colours'
- One Sweet Challenge 'fall colours'
- Raise the Bar 'damask or swirls'
As I said, after designing the cards for my Wonderful Washi Class, I had plenty of paper left for a card or two. This was a great start :) If you're free on Tuesday night, these are the three cards we'll be making in class:
A bit of stamping & die cutting, fabulous papers from Authentique and some fun ideas for Washi Tape! Give us a call at the store if you can join us- class is at 6:30! (Do let us know if you'd like to come but this night doesn't work for you- there is a possibility of rescheduling it!)
