You are special

Just a quick post to share another card I put together at the Fiesta- I really love how the background turned out on this one, which started as a plain white card...

I was inspired at Ranger U to really use up the ink that is left on my craft sheet after I finish a project, and that's exactly what I did here!  I had used my craft sheet as a palette of sorts when I did my previous cards (and some other failed attempts...) so I had a mix of ink colours and brown Distress Ink on the surface already.  I swiped a bit of the new Peacock Feathers Distress Ink (LOVE this colour!) on my mat and spritzed with water, then literally smeared my card in the inky goodness :)  I love how there are spots of more intense colour from the darker Distress Marker shades!  I dried it with a heat tool and inked the edges with my brown (I think I was working with Brushed Corduroy?) to finish off my background, then finished the card very simply with some flowers and  a bird cage image (one of our $2 deals!) in Peacock Feathers.  That fabulous sentiment is an old fave of mine from Hero Arts.

Oh, wow, totally love this one!!! I don't remember seeing you work on this, must've been after I left? I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting the limited edition inks, but...so many products, so little cash! What's a girl to do? Anyway, awesome card, makes me want to play with my inks!
