Playing with Distress Stains!

Today I'm sharing a colourful card that I created for our Sprays & Stains Challenge over at the Seriously Creative Challenge Blog!  It was a pleasure getting out my Distress Stains, some resist products and new papers... making something pretty!

I started knowing I wanted to use a great sheet of Kraft quotes from Graphic 45 and the Vintage Market collection by BoBunny, grabbed some 'mistables' paper (Pink Paislee) and resist canvas butterflies (Prima), Distress Stains by Ranger and got to work!  Since the Mistables paper and resist butterflies are made to stand up to inks & paints, they're amazing paired with a fluid product like Distress Stains!  I even misted water on the paper to encourage more blending and it stayed pretty flat!  The strip you see on this card was also misted with Biscotti Perfect Pearls, as was the sentiment before I sprayed it with Goosebumps (Tsukineko) as well (there's a bit of Moon Shadow Mist from Lindy's Stamp Gang on there too... told ya I had fun!).  I inked all my edges, including the sentiment panel, with Distress Stains too.

Here's a close up:
I love this pen nib as a butterfly body!  This brass butterfly is a fabulous embellishment from Graphic 45, isn't it pretty?  I'm not usually one to mix metals on a project, but I love how it turned out on this card!
Other supplies: Kraft cardstock, Tim Holtz products: Tiny Attacher, Film Strip Ribbon, Pen Nibs & Lightbulbs.

I had so much fun with this card, I actually made a set with coordinating products!  I'll be sharing them over the next week or so, while I'm away on my trip to Ranger University!  I hope to be posting photos along my journey on the store Facebook page, we'd love to have you follow us and see the peeks!

PS: We've got a great Deal of the Week right now!  This week you can save 20% on all in stock Ranger Products!
