Julie's apron (chocolate challenge)

It's a bit late getting it up on the blog, but this project was in fact completed before the end of our challenge! We've been wanting to decorate one of these canvas aprons from Prima for a while now- hopefully this will inspire you to pick one up and make it your own! Mom paired the apron with a 'layer cake' (10x10" stack) of Basic Grey's Origins fabric. She pulled primarily from the brown fabrics with a few yellows mixed in.
Here's a close up of the brown ruffle and the gathered flower. I love the addition of the yellow stitches!
Aren't these flowers fabulous? Mom wove strips of fabric together then covered the back with Sookwang tape before die cutting them with this sweet scalloped heart from Sizzix. She was then able to tape them to the apron to hold them in place before stitching them. The flower stems are felt pieces by Prima.
Hope you enjoyed! You can see the apron up close in the store. The aprons & fabric are both available in the store- as well as some great canvas bags, iron on vinyl from Silhouette... so many possibilities with canvas, fabric & die cuts!
