We had a great time last night at our first class in this year long 'Page of the Month' series from Basic Grey! I promised everyone I'd post the samples online, so here they are.
First up is the sample layout from Basic Grey:
and here's a lousy photo of my variation of it...
As you can see, I went for flowers (assorted dies from QK) instead of stars but beyond that, I pretty much stuck to the instructions... much to my chagrin- honestly, I *never* follow instructions that closely, but as I see them side by side I'm amazed at how even my photos are angled the same way. Crazy!
As a bonus in our classes here, we'll be doing a card I design using the scraps from our kit. I made a point to use only scraps (no cutting into unused whole sheets of paper!) and I really like how this turned out! I added crackle accents to the die cut tag and the flower (cut from one of the papers) and I had fun distressing the paper for my crinkle pleated strip. Crinkle pleated. I just like saying that... fab terminology I made up, eh?
And that's what we made! It's great to see how peoples projects were turning out with different photos added and all that... now we're looking forward to using the Kioshi line at our April class about a month from now (does April 21 work for everyone?).
Thanks for looking!
