Happy Father's Day! I hope y'all found some time to make a hand made card for your Dad before his special day... if not, I'm sure he'd agree with me that it's not too late :)
(There's still a few more hours until it's officially Father's Day... right?)
I made this one for my Dad when I sat down to experiment with Distress Markers a little... turns out they work pretty slick on glossy cardstock! My background features an image inked with 2 shades of Distress Markers stamped onto glossy cardstock, plus a few extra gear images. The hot air balloon was stamped twice, once with Distress Markers and then slightly offset with Black Archival ink. I then stamped it a third time, using Archival on another sheet of glossy cardstock. I shaded with two shades of Distress directly on the paper, then used a water brush to pull the colours, adding more from my craft sheet 'palette' until I got the intensity of colour I wanted. I then trimmed the balloon and mounted it with 3D squares over my background.
The fabric layer you see is that linen paper I posted about earlier this week. I love how well it takes ink! I coloured directly on it with Distress Markers & blended with a water brush. The embellishment is a metal tab from Tim Holtz. All stamps (except those little gears) are by Tim Holtz. The gears are by Stampendous.
