I wasn't sure what I was going to do, until I saw my friend Nancy had joined a new sketch challenge design team. She shared <a href="https://nancyscreativemess.blogspot.com/2024/03/atlantic-hearts-sketch-challenge-567.html"><strong><em>her first card on Monday</em></strong></a>and I used the inspiration from that sketch for the one you see today!</p><p>I definitely made some modifications, but I think it has similar vibes... I selected colors based on the washi tape, which has two shades of pink, orange & green. I got a package from Scrap 'N Stamp this week that had some Jewelz in it called "Key West" that feature similar colors so I decided to scatter them all over the card (I just skipped the blue ones)! Let me tell ya, you never know how many gems come in a package until it breaks in transit and they are loose in the box. haha!</p><p>Other elements on this card:</p><ul><li><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Woodware-Clear-Stamps-Extra-Birthdays-802p38972.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Extra Birthday</strong></em></a> stamp sentiments by Woodware</li><li><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Hearts-1297p38620.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Heart</strong></em></a> by Prism Studio</li><li><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Dies-Brushstroke-Flowers-Mini-907p35741.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Mini Brushstroke Flower</strong></em></a> by Tim Holtz for Sizzix</li><li><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Stitched-Rectangles-1297p38622.htm"><em><strong>Stitched Rectangle</strong></em></a> by Prism Studio</li></ul><p>It's a fun & simple, bling covered card that was fun to make with a variety of pieces I had on my work space :) Hope it makes you smile!</p><p>Inky hugs,</p><p>Tara</p>Creative Tarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11711933452430478629noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29533907.post-88952745471310773012024-03-01T12:00:00.001-08:002024-03-01T12:00:00.224-08:00Birthday Bash Hop!<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHHEUq89NHIA68gSR8pBn1O3KVmhqyg-yYvKmiIwNYTELROuRuSubEEY2k2KClUq7WJCsne6T-77fgmq4tGp6urPo-nKJgRlXkDh4jmrhfgAQNqfFwytg5jwX9xwvJ7atx0-dxCZbEq1vlTJTzAU5VurNN9jaBKROW0NY5nEAsoYwoqN476Bto/s1024/2024-14%20birthdaycupcake_9462.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHHEUq89NHIA68gSR8pBn1O3KVmhqyg-yYvKmiIwNYTELROuRuSubEEY2k2KClUq7WJCsne6T-77fgmq4tGp6urPo-nKJgRlXkDh4jmrhfgAQNqfFwytg5jwX9xwvJ7atx0-dxCZbEq1vlTJTzAU5VurNN9jaBKROW0NY5nEAsoYwoqN476Bto/w400-h400/2024-14%20birthdaycupcake_9462.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Happy Friday and welcome to the Scrap 'N Stamp 16th Birthday Bash Hop! I kept things pretty simple and die cut one of the backgrounds (I believe this one features the two sprays together- <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Spray-Stain-Scorched-Timber-1305p38949.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Distress Spray Stain</strong></em></a> and <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Oxide-Spray-Scorched-Timber-1305p38948.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Distress Oxide Spray</strong></em></a>) with my new <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/My-Favorite-Things-Die-Stitched-Oblong-STAX-911p38916.htm?idaffiliate=2">Stitched Oblong STAX dies by MFT</a></strong></em>. On the left panel, I added a strip of patterned paper with a text print from my <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Impression-Obsession-6X6-Paper-Pack-Vintage-Letters-1038p38804.htm?idaffiliate=2">current favorite 6x6 pad</a></strong></em>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p style="text-align: start;">I really wanted to use this <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Penny-Black-Cling-Stamp-Cardinal-Pair-967p38375.htm?idaffiliate=2">Cardinal Pair stamp by Penny Black</a></strong></em> at Christmas, but never got around to it... so I was pleased that die cutting it in a <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Hearts-1297p38620.htm?idaffiliate=2">heart shape</a></strong></em> allowed me to cut out or hide the ornaments. The decorative pieces are cut from 4" squares and I'm using 3 triangles on this card. You also need two pieces of ribbon to tie it shut, but you could also use magnets or velcro or some other kind of closure!</p><p>Here is a photo the flat lay of the card- start with the square on the left and layer a second square against the score line, then repeat with the third square as shown. From here I suggest folding the card into a pyramid and marking where you will need to adhere your ribbon so it matches to tie together. You'll want to adhere the ribbon underneath the decorative panels, so start with the ribbon then decorate! I chose to use Distress Oxide Inks because the patterned paper has a slightly glossy coating on it that I knew regular Distress Ink would not work on.</div><div class="separator"> </div><div class="separator">I've used <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Mama-Elephant-Stamp-and-Die-Combo-Puppy-Play-843p23539.htm?idaffiliate=2" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Puppy Play stamp & die set</a>, </i></b>coloring the pups simply with <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Watercolor-Pencils-Set-2-868p34915.htm?idaffiliate=2" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Distress Watercolor Pencil Crayons</a> </i></b>and stamped the sentiment on a strip of <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tonic-Cardstock-Kraft-Card-845p20775.htm?idaffiliate=2" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Kraft cardstock</a>, to match my pyramid card base.</div><div class="separator"> </div><div class="separator">I die cut some of the <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Hearts-1297p38620.htm?idaffiliate=2">Prism Nesting Hearts</a></i></b> from scraps I had on my workspace. The card still seemed to be missing something, and bling was not doing the trick for me this time (so weird, it is almost always the right finishing choice!) so I <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Honey-Bee-Dies-Bitty-Buzzwords-1188p31707.htm?idaffiliate=2" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><b><i>die cut the word 'hugs'</i></b></a> from some <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Whole-Spectrum-Foil-Cardstock-Brushed-Gold-1222p36278.htm?idaffiliate=2" rel="noopener" target="_blank">brushed gold foil cardstock</a></i></b>, and a tiny heart as well for my finishing touches!</div><div> </div><div>Hope you like the card and this little tutorial was helpful! I'm featuring a <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Layering-Canada-Jay-Cedar-Waxwing-1297p38617.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank"><b><i>beautiful Canada Jay die by Prism Studio</i></b></a> on my card this weekend. This die was quite a bit larger than I expected, so I had to come up with a design that really let it be the focal point. I inked up some watercolor paper in shades of grey and then cut the layers using the sample from the back of the package. Distress Oxide in Black Soot gave me a deep grey and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide and Spray Stain gave me the lighter variations. I used a black marker for the tiny bits, rather than pulling out another scrap of paper to cut from.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used some scraps on my desk from some Valentine's I've been making to assemble a little envelope for my bird to be carrying- it was very simple but that glittery heart definitely has the sparkle factor that would appeal to a bird!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My background features a beautiful embossing folder called Classic Pinecones 3D by Altenew. It's a slimline folder, so is narrow and long. I cut my embossed layer as wide as I could to get the whole design, which is 3.75" wide. I embossed in Kraft, the same color as my base card, then did some ink blending over it with some touches of green (Rustic Wilderness) and the rest is the new Scorched Timber Distress Ink. It's very deep on the Kraft, which I love as it gives me a background that doesn't distract from my bird!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I finished the card with a sentiment, this is from an OLD Lawn Fawn set, and some red twine for a little pop.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpCKL66er4xQ-AJy3xpS85vSlR5TuS2CHjlnm9HGj4t4U6WyK7JuPW0zmaLoz4UN9TetTIO6j54GX4fy_aIY3KOgL1wDL6cp-_yvZZTTIOOldbz3dX2etN2yV9Ti37WJlBZ5FoxG5WNBoeVNzTGu5liPafz7LCUO8sMD2tQP_Efl1cuQBU2Rwv/s1024/2024-06%20SendingLove_9314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpCKL66er4xQ-AJy3xpS85vSlR5TuS2CHjlnm9HGj4t4U6WyK7JuPW0zmaLoz4UN9TetTIO6j54GX4fy_aIY3KOgL1wDL6cp-_yvZZTTIOOldbz3dX2etN2yV9Ti37WJlBZ5FoxG5WNBoeVNzTGu5liPafz7LCUO8sMD2tQP_Efl1cuQBU2Rwv/w400-h400/2024-06%20SendingLove_9314.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">There's a lot of fabulous texture on this card! This card was inspired by all the pretty new Prism Studio papers- there's a gorgeous range of Whole<a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Whole-Spectrum-Foil-Cardstock-Ruby-1278p36174.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank"><b><i> Spectrum Foil Cardstock </i></b></a> and <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-8-5x11-Whole-Spectrum-Glitter-Cardstock-Ruby-1278p38639.htm?idaffiliate=2">Whole Spectrum Glitter Cardstock</a></i></b>. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Today I chose to showcase a trio of hearts in RUBY. Isn't it pretty!? I've also used the <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Whole-Spectrum-Foil-Cardstock-Brushed-Gold-1278p36278.htm?idaffiliate=2"><b><i>Brushed Gold Foil</i></b></a> for the die cut "love" sentiment. I kept this card really simple, cutting 3 hearts the same size from one of the <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Hearts-1297p38620.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank">Prism Nesting Hearts dies</a>. I chose to let the glittery heart be the central one, though it could have gone either way! I had a 2" strip of Patterned Paper (from the <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Impression-Obsession-6X6-Paper-Pack-Vintage-Letters-1038p38804.htm?idaffiliate=2">vintage letters 6x6 pad by IO</a></i></b>) and mounted it to the lower portion of an A2 Kraft Card. I mounted my trio of hearts from the outside in, giving the glittery heart a 3D boost with some foam squares.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The sentiment features <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Honey-Bee-Clear-Stamp-Bitty-Buzzwords-1190p31851.htm?idaffiliate=2">stamps</a></i></b> & <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Honey-Bee-Dies-Bitty-Buzzwords-1188p31707.htm?idaffiliate=2"><b><i>dies</i></b></a> from Honey Bee's 'Bitty Buzzwords' set. It seems like all of North America is facing a cold spell right now... this calls for COFFEE! Today I'm sharing a fun monochromatic card I made for a coffee loving friend's birthday. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGhtx0ZhyphenhyphenQGAxJ6omuC5mC9oUNtZcd5qx76aHBYMCol3qjER72t17A2hiRbLGoKTl5DjZhek3ebb9M_YOQh6Oqym0SuFeIsWFtWA-_mRg_TYb2IBLDFHgb3AdB2ulw71HGwwZE_Yhbvn2JGWd3qKeVlUEU9cGtaY46mL29x3xtRDbMPpu7aXg9/s1024/2023-74%20WinterCoffee_8932.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGhtx0ZhyphenhyphenQGAxJ6omuC5mC9oUNtZcd5qx76aHBYMCol3qjER72t17A2hiRbLGoKTl5DjZhek3ebb9M_YOQh6Oqym0SuFeIsWFtWA-_mRg_TYb2IBLDFHgb3AdB2ulw71HGwwZE_Yhbvn2JGWd3qKeVlUEU9cGtaY46mL29x3xtRDbMPpu7aXg9/w400-h400/2023-74%20WinterCoffee_8932.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had fun digging through my supplies (and the scraps on my desk!) for blue pieces I could use for this card. I started with a <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Impression-Obsession-6X6-Paper-Pack-Vintage-Letters-1038p38804.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank"><b><i>vintage letter print</i></b></a> from the new 6x6 pad by IO and layered on the <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Taylored-Expressions-Stencil-Puppy-Love-Layering-822p27062.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank"><b><i>Puppy Love Layering Stencil by Taylored Expressions</i></b></a>. I was excited to use this set, which is two pieces that work beautifully together. I chose to use Distress Oxide Inks because the patterned paper has a slightly glossy coating on it that I knew regular Distress Ink would not work on. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I've had this cute <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Mama-Elephant-Stamp-and-Die-Combo-Puppy-Play-843p23539.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank">Puppy Play stamp & die set</a></i></b> for a while and hadn't inked it up, so this project was a perfect excuse to break it in! I colored the pups simply with <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Watercolor-Pencils-Set-2-868p34915.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank">Distress Watercolor Pencil Crayons</a></i></b> and stamped the sentiment on a strip of <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tonic-Cardstock-Kraft-Card-845p20775.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank">Kraft cardstock</a>, to match my pyramid card base.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I die cut some of the <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Hearts-1297p38620.htm?idaffiliate=2">Prism Nesting Hearts</a></i></b> (I've been needing hearts for a while and was so happy to see these in the store! They are a great price, but even better that they are on sale right now!) from scraps I had on my workspace. The card still seemed to be missing something, and bling was not doing the trick for me this time (so weird, it is almost always the right finishing choice!) so I <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Honey-Bee-Dies-Bitty-Buzzwords-1188p31707.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank"><b><i>die cut the word 'hugs'</i></b></a> from some <b><i><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Whole-Spectrum-Foil-Cardstock-Brushed-Gold-1222p36278.htm?idaffiliate=2" target="_blank">brushed gold foil cardstock</a></i></b>, and a tiny heart as well for my finishing touches!</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzL2IL1wVwLLGwMnm-GASOHj4loCsH3uo6hfnomJhmnF7p2iqyETFuJnWTX0YHcAlR5wu24aNibusEsyDqhPYXGj_XDADqOyxuCCqlvd3DkEVhNZFnrhtGHyNRfbsoEquB0tko5aGJRIdstRU0NLB700L172fVv9pVzNmiFk288aQIcEMwcRhC/s1024/2024-02%20DimensionalDoggies_9186.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzL2IL1wVwLLGwMnm-GASOHj4loCsH3uo6hfnomJhmnF7p2iqyETFuJnWTX0YHcAlR5wu24aNibusEsyDqhPYXGj_XDADqOyxuCCqlvd3DkEVhNZFnrhtGHyNRfbsoEquB0tko5aGJRIdstRU0NLB700L172fVv9pVzNmiFk288aQIcEMwcRhC/w400-h400/2024-02%20DimensionalDoggies_9186.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is one of those fun cards that will look so pretty on display, but also folds down flat for mailing. Since Distress Ink is a favorite of mine, it's usually where I start. So, I started grabbing inks to see what I could blend together to get the right color. I always love when there is a good New Years sentiment since I'm so bad at actually sending Christmas cards in the mail...<p>I stamped on an ivory cardstock which I die cut with <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Stitched-Circles-800p38123.htm?idaffiliate=2">Prism Nesting Stitched Circles</a></strong></em>. The card base is a peachy piece from my stash which I used the same sparkle paste to stencil onto.</p><p>For finishing touches, I added some crinkle ribbon (which I inked up using a mix of Saltwater Taffy & Scattered Straw) and some sparkly fallback bling which came in a "<a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Buttons-Galore-Doo-Dadz-Polar-Wind-815p32927.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Polar Wind" embellishment mix</strong></em></a>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAbbiQZcEKShwUMxFvCF_JrBnbtzjJvsbQfy2RrJOHDcF6EhZAC1aWfVm069_Tl7RZn0Et6zH-Qz-U8v_6pyuGxzupr3eH2K6AtUs1BdpDcjQ1I7-1GT_EcDAPTJayPCDGZleUoPDyvpQkBbx1AeWZYbOF0-R6bpqJXSmQXQFtjkO7LFF5rdwB/s1025/2024-01%20PantoneFuzzyPeach_9146.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1025" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAbbiQZcEKShwUMxFvCF_JrBnbtzjJvsbQfy2RrJOHDcF6EhZAC1aWfVm069_Tl7RZn0Et6zH-Qz-U8v_6pyuGxzupr3eH2K6AtUs1BdpDcjQ1I7-1GT_EcDAPTJayPCDGZleUoPDyvpQkBbx1AeWZYbOF0-R6bpqJXSmQXQFtjkO7LFF5rdwB/w400-h400/2024-01%20PantoneFuzzyPeach_9146.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>Wishing you many creative days in 2024!</p><p>Inky hugs,</p><p>Tara</p><p></p>Creative Tarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11711933452430478629noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29533907.post-85328295831827438342024-01-01T15:57:00.000-08:002024-01-01T15:57:30.008-08:00Peace & Joy in the New Year!<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Happy New Year 2024! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">For the past several years I've been challenging myself to create something with the Pantone Color of the Year for the new year- this year the color is called Peach Fuzz and it turned out to be quite a challenge for me! I was looking for something shiny to complement the background, and none of my blues or silvers looked quite right... then I remembered I had some <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Whole-Spectrum-Foil-Cardstock-Holographic-1222p36203.htm?idaffiliate=2">Holographic Foil Cardstock</a></strong></em> and thought I'd give it a try... I think we can agree it turned out kinda fabulous!</p><p style="text-align: start;">I cut a sentiment (birthday wishes by MFT) and some snowflakes (snow time by Penny Black) from the foil cardstock (sorry- can't fine either of these in the online store at the moment!) and added some clear bling to finish it off! Any snowflakes or sentiment would be lovely out of this- it's a touch finicky to deal with, but is totally worth it when you get these results! I was very impressed it photographed well, too!</p></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfreod13yGMURXg26ZGljYBaMTR7TVpNhYTnRDKIk5IfiGUUW_iUhH79f6iTYHIk5ihkfjq31Rbt8WBEPvEYjRsp4QZ8khP_FJT5eIyS_OWnolrCyQxurz4e1kn1o6J8Fxou4GmZxs5MyUEEUt9wADmWIZZY_Zro_9lFleVpg-b9zQQ01Tikhc/s1024/2023-78%20BlueBirthday_9094.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfreod13yGMURXg26ZGljYBaMTR7TVpNhYTnRDKIk5IfiGUUW_iUhH79f6iTYHIk5ihkfjq31Rbt8WBEPvEYjRsp4QZ8khP_FJT5eIyS_OWnolrCyQxurz4e1kn1o6J8Fxou4GmZxs5MyUEEUt9wADmWIZZY_Zro_9lFleVpg-b9zQQ01Tikhc/w400-h400/2023-78%20BlueBirthday_9094.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><p style="text-align: start;">I hope you had a lovely Christmas- and if you're still on vacation, enjoy every minute! It's that time of year when I realize I have way more ideas for Christmas cards than I have time to make them... I should probably try to be one of those people who makes them all year for next years cards, then they might actually get sent out to people :) I was finishing up some in progress cards and thinking about what I should post when I realized that this is my LAST Tuesday post before Christmas- yikes! So, I've decided to share one I had ready to go and save more for Instagram shares this week. I inked the front of the embossing folder with some Distress Oxide Ink (for this card I've used <a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Oxide-Ink-Pad-Rustic-Wilderness-1119p28597.htm?idaffiliate=2"><em><strong>Rustic Wilderness</strong></em></a>) and didn't do much else besides add a bit of ink to the edges! I embossed a panel I had pre-cut to give me an even border around the card front.</p></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtMS9JArZcywNF339lHba0yVAeRCHuTCIgiWu8ey77JSl22hJOJaXDjEcSxQ0xjNG-8XURvzCmFn6s5OfrVh7TY7wYFElVMwGRxmMM-B0ZZ-xeeW6wpg6xB23fNlOC43D3iLQpAQaZkEcMu1zMvgIw1rFEC4M5lg8Wp5hRpazH2JMqX6ck129a/s1024/2023-72%20GreenSweater_8978.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtMS9JArZcywNF339lHba0yVAeRCHuTCIgiWu8ey77JSl22hJOJaXDjEcSxQ0xjNG-8XURvzCmFn6s5OfrVh7TY7wYFElVMwGRxmMM-B0ZZ-xeeW6wpg6xB23fNlOC43D3iLQpAQaZkEcMu1zMvgIw1rFEC4M5lg8Wp5hRpazH2JMqX6ck129a/w400-h400/2023-72%20GreenSweater_8978.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: start;">For this card, I paired my background with some greenery from the </span><em style="text-align: start;"><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Dies-Festive-Gatherings-907p38352.htm?idaffiliate=2">Festive Gatherings die set</a></strong></em><span style="text-align: start;"> and added touches of glitter & gold. I think I'll be using these on quite a few of my cards this year (yes, I'm one of those people who is still making them...). Don't you love the shimmering touches and the texture on the background? It's definitely the season for making & sending Christmas cards, because of that it can be a bit challenging for those people who have December birthdays. My grandson, who turned 1 yesterday, is one of those people! I decided to use the same stamp set I worked with for the Christmas Critters Blog Hop (you can see my card </span><a href="http://creativeaccents.blogspot.com/2023/12/christmas-critters-hop.html" style="text-align: start;">HERE</a><span style="text-align: start;">) and use it on a quick, but playful birthday card!</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgREkTYokSsCP7YEhdSuIJMMiYq03UKZt2oM3SGplUchDgsyMqMHnJ3Zz7NPNBIcr3VwCMU9mYq5SDDgmtYKjNe0tfZLbC2CPNtynikqQeZugqR1tnbxkVRuwpsuacoHZ3JCMbSB8IDkGVFOkPwSz2BcczmGNiQd8ZgBdtKtCKxL7NUp7KYWFTk/s1024/2023-71%20BirthdayBug_8911.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgREkTYokSsCP7YEhdSuIJMMiYq03UKZt2oM3SGplUchDgsyMqMHnJ3Zz7NPNBIcr3VwCMU9mYq5SDDgmtYKjNe0tfZLbC2CPNtynikqQeZugqR1tnbxkVRuwpsuacoHZ3JCMbSB8IDkGVFOkPwSz2BcczmGNiQd8ZgBdtKtCKxL7NUp7KYWFTk/w400-h400/2023-71%20BirthdayBug_8911.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I had a <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Prism-Studio-Die-Nesting-Stitched-Rectangles-1297p38622.htm?idaffiliate=2">blue rectangle die cut</a></strong></em> and the<em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Lawn-Fawn-6X6-Petite-Paper-Pack-Knit-Picky-Winter-984p34784.htm?idaffiliate=2"> Lawn Fawn Knit Picky Winter 6x6 paper pad</a></strong></em> sitting on my desk, so they were the inspiration for the rest of the card! I wanted to use one of the little bugs in the <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Colorado-Craft-Company-Anitia-Jeram-Clear-Stamp-Christmas-Hats-1116p34963.htm?idaffiliate=2">Christmas Hats stamp set</a></strong></em> by Anita Jeram, thinking they would be cute paired with this <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Cling-Stamp-Bold-Sayings-998p32021.htm?idaffiliate=2">bold birthday greeting</a></strong></em> by Tim Holtz. I love using these bold sentiments when I need a quick card!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrRHXAbqqrQYo-nov3qPmlsH8uDQjM5PmvmNUcHEy5dCw03kJ90VPklQ7h-O4wydIOYHBqPHqyFQmaq2byDBaCFjJAHkvyXWrOBqKMQIdJOeUS8S9Vr2n5zIrHc4a5QPts2ziRqMVjlY0xsRaM6P1mtpMbu1clbKK5HZwF9z2VceNtp4q5t74D/s1024/2023-71%20BirthdayBug_8912.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrRHXAbqqrQYo-nov3qPmlsH8uDQjM5PmvmNUcHEy5dCw03kJ90VPklQ7h-O4wydIOYHBqPHqyFQmaq2byDBaCFjJAHkvyXWrOBqKMQIdJOeUS8S9Vr2n5zIrHc4a5QPts2ziRqMVjlY0xsRaM6P1mtpMbu1clbKK5HZwF9z2VceNtp4q5t74D/w400-h400/2023-71%20BirthdayBug_8912.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>I stamped the sentiment in <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Tim-Holtz-Distress-Ink-Pad-Prize-Ribbon-1119p31442.htm?idaffiliate=2">Prize Ribbon Distress Ink</a></strong></em> and added this cute little bug in black. I almost left it just like that, but decided to add a bit of color and shimmer with a touch of a <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Gelly-Roll-Stardust-Pen-Set-Galaxy-Pack-6-pk-1009p23615.htm?idaffiliate=2">gelly roll Stardust pen</a></strong></em>, as well (did you know you can do watercolor blending with these? You can see it a bit on the bug's belly). I finished it off (as well as the die cut "1" I added) with a bit of <em><strong><a href="https://www.scrapnstamp.ca/store/pc/Ranger-Glossy-Accents-Large-806p13267.htm?idaffiliate=2">Glossy Accents</a></strong></em> to help it stand out!<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7dNf6M2GbL9rs6YClpDKuToLM7ff765Q-sPKcGRKg2tZxxUi3Z9yDBDXT-JYtTD6J9qSUTcWfknrX-nmtKf8d3i8_qqJK3UArYTciJcrORw02cVYggDYXN0EvNjkU-U_uEupdcpQbaYMGk9Z3QlrT0JpE9pQ-7dlYCEbgDGmdUchEXtsVBVpE/s1024/2023-71%20BirthdayBug_8919.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7dNf6M2GbL9rs6YClpDKuToLM7ff765Q-sPKcGRKg2tZxxUi3Z9yDBDXT-JYtTD6J9qSUTcWfknrX-nmtKf8d3i8_qqJK3UArYTciJcrORw02cVYggDYXN0EvNjkU-U_uEupdcpQbaYMGk9Z3QlrT0JpE9pQ-7dlYCEbgDGmdUchEXtsVBVpE/w400-h400/2023-71%20BirthdayBug_8919.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><p></p><p>I didn't make this adorable little cake (that Shyloe was not at all interested in smashing.
