Links & Luscious new stuff...

I wanted to share a few things with y'all! I'll start with QuicKutz... they're discontinuing a bunch of dies & alphas and you can see them all HERE! Just let us know as soon as possible if there are any you'd like us to order for you, as they're only available while supplies last! One of our favourite alphas, Emily, is in the bunch as well as the purple squeeze tool & accessories. One good thing about a big list like this from QuicKutz is that there are usually a bunch more fabulous new things on their way!

Another link to share with you is Karyn Gartel's website. She's our featured artist in the Art Walk going on right now-- here's a peek at her display in our store! She's got a gallery on her website, as well as a link to her ebay store. You can also purchase collage sheets from her, which I know some of our readers are into!

Lastly... we've got some new goodies on the table here from BASIC GREY... a collection of luscious new papers. It's just a sampling of their new collections, which we think people are gonna love! My personal fave's are Mellow (an autumn collection) and Periphery (kindof a vintage collage in blues & greys)-they're just yummy! We also have new idea books from CARDS & a special release Holiday Idea book that looks pretty fabulous! Apart from these new ones, all of our in stock books & magazines are currently on sale for the US cover price, so it's a great time to get some new inspiration!

Stamping Bella

... a new shipment has arrived, and there's fabulous new packaging! Come check out these 'dahling' bits of 'rubbah' and let them inspire you! (I'm sure they'll look just as good at home with you as they do hanging on the wall here!)

Watch for details coming VERY soon on a special evening of fun in September... featuring Bellas and other girlie things!

This pretty little 'bubblebella' is going to be used to create some fun art for my bathroom :)

Art Walk 2007

Hey! I'm back from my trip to Vancouver last week and I had a fabulous time enjoying all the culture there-- saw 2 plays at Bard on the Beach, Grease at Theatre in the Park and even went to a concert in Linden, WA. I'm getting back in the groove of things here in Williams Lake and am thrilled to mention here that we're taking part of some local art culture right here in Williams Lake-- Art Walk!

If you're not familiar with the program I'll give you a little summary... various businesses around town are displaying artwork from a variety of local artists. {We're thrilled to be featuring art by Karyn Gartel- a mixed media artist who happens to also be a customer of ours.} People are invited to purchase a passport for $3.00 (we've got a few at the store here, if you need one) which gives details on all the participating artists and businesses. Until Sept 1, you can walk around to the businesses, check out the featured art and get your passport stamped. When you have collected all your stamps, you can drop off your stamping page and be entered in a draw for some fantastic prizes.

Art Walk is a great opportunity to check out some local art and enjoy a bit of culture right here in Williams Lake! We hope to see you Art Walkin' by sometime soon!

Groovy Crop Night on Friday

We're hosting another crop night this coming Friday from 6pm till Midnight. Cost is just $5 and will include munchies as well as a mini class, making this groovy 8x8 layout using new QuicKutz products! Give us a call or e-mail by Thursday, August 9 if you can make it!

August Stamp of the Month

This month's stamp is a gorgeous paisley background image by Stampabilities! Tanya & I had alot of fun playing with this one, and we hope you will too! Here's our sample cards!
For this card I stamped tone-on-tone red ink on red Basic Grey paper. The boot is a new QuicKutz shape, punched out of Sugar Coated cardstock. The saying & small paisley stamp used with the sentiment are also by Stampabilities.
I went back to 'basics' with this card and love the look of the gold embossing! I paired it with some gold paisley peel off stickers & sheer ribbons.
This card is my personal fave-- I played with distress ink on this one! I tapped 'peeled paint' & 'broken china' on the stamp then spritzed it with water before stamping. I then spritzed the paper again and set it aside to dry. For the die cut flower I did a versamark resist on glossy paper, and sponged the same colors of distress ink over the stamped image. I used the QK Revolution to cut the flower and leaf out of my custom patterned paper and some Bazzill bling cardstock. The tag is also by QK & the sentiment is by Hero Arts.
Tanya created this beauty-- stamped the paisley multiple times on lime paper and embossed it in white. It looks lovely finished off with a Bling Blossom by Bazzill!
Just a simple ATC- like my red card, it's stamped red on red, I stamped and embossed in gold the sentiment & sm. paisley image, added ric-rac and a flower with a paisley sticker in the center.

Check back tomorrow for a look at the August SOTM and new sample cards!

Lovin' the freebies...

I just wanted to share a couple new online freebies with y'all!

Creating Keepsakes Magazine has a free font on their website today, called "CK Becky" It's a great handwritten font, and you can find it right here. If you're new to downloading fonts online, you'll also find step by step instructions for how to install it on your computer!

A monthly freebie that we LOVE here at Creative Accents is Page Maps, and this month there's a bonus set of round maps for you to print off! I have a folder of these sketches and refer to them regularly when I'm scrapbooking! Pick up the new 12x12 August maps & the RoundMaps by visiting her website HERE. The RoundMaps are so much fun, I think I'll take some time this August to be inspired by these sketches! I challenge you to do the same! This cute Disney layout featured on their website, uses Basic Grey papers (which I've used a couple times in my Disney album, too, go figure...)
